    Howdy, fellow Draconiacs! RazorFox here.

    Wow.

    After last week’s little cliffhanger, I was floored by the outpouring of support for Briella. Apparently, she’s got a significant fanbase out there amongst you. Maybe she was right when she said, “I’m too amazing to die!”

    And thus, Briella has pulled another rabbit out of her hat. She survived this encounter with Rula, Kenzi, and Naisha, but will she make it out of the Calera alive?

    I will say that I’ve already got her destiny pretty much set in stone, and I’m going to be hard-pressed to make any changes to it. Beyond that, however, my lips are sealed. Stay tuned, my fellow Draconiacs. ~__^

    Those of you looking for a soundtrack to this page can pull up “Gone Daddy Gone,” as performed by Gnarls Barkley.

    I want to thank all of you who visited MarsCon this past weekend in Williamsburg, Virginia, where I had the honor of being a guest once again, next to various webcomic luminaries, including my pals Rob Balder of Erfworld fame, and Rachel, Monica, and Dave from Tangent Artists, who were kind enough to lend me table space.

    I talked to more than a couple fans who personally voiced their desire to see Briella survive this little escapade. We shall see…

    Also, I want to apologize to the MarsCon folks, as I came down with a bit of a cold starting Saturday evening, sidelining me for Sunday. I’ll make it up to you all next year!

    With that, it’s back to my chicken soup and box of tissues while I start chipping away at the next page. What’s next in store for Briella? Will Kess and her running buddies exercise some extreme prejudice on the lone Dragon? Or will she finally make it to daylight in one piece?

    OH, man, I thought Briella was gonna bite it there! I’m so glad she escaped…for now, at least (good girl, hug that stalactite!). Now we just need to have Kenzi’s chipped tooth looked at, and we’ll be all set to go.

    Poor Briella, now she has to escape and report back!Hmm. The tigers don’t know that there’s only one dragon and the dragon still has to report back. This is going to be interesting!

    Holograms?  Temporarily invisibility?  Manipulation of light/dark?  Is it just me or am I the only one that’s starting to think that the light dragons are the strongest of all the dragons?That aside, Briella might want to watch herself now as Kenzi’s probably PO’ed about that chipped tooth.

      Aside from the Fire Dragons as they took on the volcano, when I took over the writing, I realized that the different Dragon races hadn’t really had a chance to show off what they’re capable of.  Briella’s escapades here double as a demonstration of just what a high-powered Light Dragon can do.  Glad you’re diggin’ it!  ^o^

    Tricky tricky, excelent twist. It’s amazing how someone can turn into an instant ninja and cling to stalegmites when startled.

      Indeed.  Stalagmites, however, are the ones that come up from the floor.  Stalactites are the ones that come from the ceiling, and right now, Briella is thankful for their convenient placement.  ^__^

    HA! Great trick, duped the tigers into falling flat on there faces. Not the cat pile I was hoping for but hilarious none the less. Light dragons really do have some neat ability’s, not as big in a fight but enough to get you off you’re toes.  Though with them thinking that other dragons are on the way you would think they would be more concerned to get out of there.

    Nice! I find myself more impressed than before with the powers of the light dragons. Decoys that are basically holograms? Just awesome.

      Indeed.  I want to show just what a Light Dragon is capable of in these circumstances, though I should point out that Briella’s a little more advanced than the average Light Dragon.  She’s good at what she does, and she knows it.  Much to her regret, though, so does Lady Red.  ^__^

    Poor Briella would be so cool right now. That is if she weren’t scared shiteless. Wonder what the tigers found in the bone yard?

      Actually, there was an alternate version of the script for this page that involved Briella losing control of a different bodily function (which would have had a Tiger ask “Did that stalactite just PEE?!”), but it would have hurt the pacing.  I want to wrap up the chapter in the next few pages.  We’ll see if Briella makes it, or if the Tigers finally wise up.  Stay tuned…  ~__^

        Well something tells me that she’s going to stay clutching that stalactite and keep her cloak on for a good while after that scare. Poor girl, must have seen her “awesome,” life flash before her eyes.

    I want that dragon dead now. Don’t particulary hate her or anything, but makes me a lil sad that if a single dragon can do this then the tiger nation don’t have a chance in this war.How have they been in war for this long? Just that. XD

      It’s not that the Tigers are that bad, but rather that Briella’s just that damn good.  Or, as she would put it, she’s “too amazing to die.”  ^__^

      A very scared puppy.  Actually, an earlier draft of the script had Briella in a not-so-cute situation.  Let’s just say that it involved loss of control over a bodily function.  Opted against it for a variety of reasons.  ^__^;;

      I’d say it’s a little bit of each.  Some things are deliberate, and some might just be reflexes.  For the sake of her pride, Briella will claim this was totally planned.  ^__^

      The chipped tooth was a side bit that came about when I looked back at how she was drawn in panel two.  Her mouth makes full contact with the floor.  I figured she’d have to sustain some sort of injury from that.

      And, I have to admit, it’s a little homage to Apple Bloom.  For some weird reason, I found the chipped tooth bit she had with Zecora to be really sweet.
      Hmmm…  Maybe I have an excuse to introduce zebra characters…  Hmmm…

    This is indeed an interesting turn of events! her quick thinking saved her tail, good thinking Briella ^^! Though I do feel bad for our tiger gal who seems to have chipped her tooth; ooouch!

      Briella lives to fight again on another page.  As for Kenzi’s tooth (“toof”), she’s a Tiger.  She’s made of tougher stuff than you or I.  Chipped tooth?  Minor inconvenience.  ^__^

    My face when Briella survived: “O3O” My face when Kenzi chipped her tooth: “T3T”. My face toward toward Briella now: “x3x”. SHE IS SO DEAD TO ME. Poor Kenzi :c I hope when she gets back and attempts to give Red her what-for that she has to start taking baths in ice ._.

      So let me get this straight:  You feel bad for Kenzi and you hate Briella for it.  But you’re hoping Briella makes it out alive because you seem to hate Lady Red even more.  Am I reading that right?  ^__^;

        More or less :P It’s not that I hate Lady Red, it’s that if she never sent Briella on this mission, Kenzi wouldn’t have chipped her tooth, and the rest of the tigers wouldn’t have gotten their tails all a-ruffled. So now I hope Briella makes her take a bath in ice ._. FOREVER. I still love Briella, she’s too amazing to hate :3

    I for one love this comic for the inclusion of dragons, hence how i root for them. And if you notice, my name here is actually a draconic name, and the name of a dragon i’ve had in detail for a comic that is soon to be started (Or not, it’s undecided between my friends and i.) but if all else fails, there can always be new characters for this comic if RazorFox will accept the character (or characters) that i have rolling around there. Crossing my fingers though! ^_^

      Thanks so much for the praise!  I really appreciate it.  Unfortunately, I’m not looking to include any fan-created characters in the comic, or at least not as official characters.  That’s not to say that you might not occasionally spot a familiar face in a crowd scene once in a while.  ~__^
