Howdy, fellow Draconiacs!  RazorFox here. So it looks like Ennek‘s got a slight beef with Rula and Kenzi after their little bit of mouthing off on the last page.  Looks like they’ve got bigger things to worry about now, though.  How will Kilani factor into all this?  Stay tuned… Those of you looking for a soundtrack can pull up “Come Out And Play” by The Offspring, who urges us to keep ’em separated. I want to thank you all for staying tuned for the past several weeks!  I ran into some creative headaches on the previous couple pages, including unhappiness with the scenery, the time it was taking to create new pages, trying to fit the comic in with my new work schedule and the class I’m taking at a local college to further my education, and a feeling that the story had gotten away from me.  All that led to a major case of burnout.  The past couple years, in the summertime, I take a month-long break and run guest comics, but unfortunately for all of us, this chapter has run long, preventing me from taking any sort of meaningful extended break this year, and I think I finally up and had it. So, during the hiatus, I worked to get myself settled into a new groove, and I sat down and finally scripted out the ending to the chapter which allows me to rein the story back in before it gets too sidetracked.  Don’t get me wrong, though, as I don’t regret any of what I’ve put in thus far, and I see it all as essential to current and future developments, but I had to make sure they were all heading toward a common destination, and I felt that had slipped away.  I think I’m good to go again. I’ve also made some subtle tweaks to the artwork.  For years, my primary medium of choice was working in black-and-white line art.  My inking style was grounded in that, and to compensate for the lack of color, variations in line weight and use of solid black areas was key to making sure things stood out.  It finally dawned on me that that’s almost completely unnecessary when working in color, especially if there’s shading and highlights, and I was just creating a bunch of extra work for myself.  Thus, I’ve thinned out the line art a tad, and looking over the final result, I’m happy with it!  It looks much cleaner and the scene doesn’t look as dark. So, I thank you for your patience and your understanding while I went through an artistic meltdown!  I’m really glad to have you back, and I promise you won’t have to wait as long for page 336 as you did for this one, partially because it’s already written.  ^__^ Moving on to another big, big thing, this coming weekend, I shall be returning to Georgia to attend Anime Weekend Atlanta!  Rascals creator and all-around great guy Master Godai and I will be at neighboring tables in the Artist Alley, and I’ll be taking commissions, selling prints, and taking pre-orders for the 2014 Draconia Chronicles Calendar, with this year’s theme being “If They Were Human…”  Previews are coming, but in the meantime, you can come on out to AWA this weekend!  For more information, check the Conventions section in the right-hand column.  Hope to see you there! And that’s it for this update!  Remember to like the Draconia Chronicles Facebook page and to follow my Twitter feed so you’ll know exactly when the next update drops.  Take care, my fellow Draconiacs, and thanks for reading! =RazorFox.
